Where You’ve Seen Him: Romain Duris

Share

After his screen test, Romain Duris made his film debut in Cédric Klapsich’s 1994 film, “Le Péril Jeune.” The two have collaborated five more times, including on 1996’s “When the Cat’s Away,” 2002’s “The Spanish Apartment” and 2008’s “Paris.” He also is a favorite of director Tony Gartlif, appearing in three films, including 2004’s “Exiles.”

Among his 33 films are “Molière,” “Dans Paris” and “Gadjo Dilo.”

His latest film, “The Big Picture,” a thriller based on the book by Douglas Kennedy, premieres at the Toronto Film Festival this month.

And he’s ready to stake his claim in Hollywood. “We have received some scripts,” Duris says, “but it’s always a little bit French lover characters, which I don’t want to do.”
