New Candy Bar

In America’s most decadent city, it’s hard to compete with casino candy stores that roll out the red carpet for celebrities and offer million-dollar lollipops. But one local shop just might have the edge with its fresh cotton candy that is not only made to order but also sparkles with a dusting of edible glitter. That sweet spot is B Sweet Candy Boutique at Tivoli Village.

“There’s nothing like it in Las Vegas,” said owner Arlene Bordinhao, who runs the shop with her husband, Victor. The duo won’t reveal what makes their cotton candy so special, but will say they use the finest ingredients.

Located within the walls of the Market LV (420 S. Rampart Blvd.), a marketplace designed to showcase Las Vegas-owned businesses, the Bordinhaos’ candy store is still fairly new but is already developing a devoted following of all ages.

In addition to the store’s delicious cotton candy, B Sweet features more than 100 types of gummies and candy, showcased on shelves of glass jars marked with cute, crafty tags. Bordinhao’s favorite sweets are the chocolate-covered gummy bears and honeycomb. But she says that her sour selection — from belts to rings — is also extremely popular.

There is certainly no lack of nostalgia at B Sweet. The store also carries Haribo Gummies, Bit-O-Honey, Razzles, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Astro Pops and many other well-known retro candies. “We also really focus on customer service and taking customers back to a simpler time,” Bordinhao added. And in a candy store, “customer service” usually translates into “free samples.”
