New offerings in Las Vegas’ adults-only pool scene

Share

Yes, Las Vegas summers are downright scorching. But the city’s adults-only pool scene lets you beat the heat while soaking up some sun.

Offering an array of environments for guests ages 21 and older, there’s a pool club for every type of traveler. In fact, the Strip welcomed its first LGBTQ beach party in March — Xposed! at the New Tropicana Las Vegas, which runs Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the picturesque Tropicana Beach Club, a venue typically used for private parties.

Here, guests can cool off in one of two distinct pools — a party pool by the deejay or a more “chill” pool by the beach volleyball area — or 18 cabanas. The view includes breathtaking waterfalls, palm trees and sun-kissed go-go dancers.

Want to see and be seen? Head to Drai’s Beach Club. The newly opened rooftop retreat at the Strip’s first stand-alone boutique hotel, the Cromwell, boasts unobstructed views of Las Vegas Boulevard from its perch 11 stories in the air. Split into two levels, the club features two lower-level main pools, a central wet deck, ten 35-foot palm trees for shade and an elevated deejay booth. Open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Drai’s Beach Club transforms into Drai’s Nightclub Thursday through Sunday at 10 p.m., ensuring that the fun never has to end.

The 55,000-square-foot Encore Beach Club at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas — named Dayclub of the Year in the 2014 Nightclub & Bar Awards — keeps the party going long after the sun sets with its new Thursday night pool bash, Encore Beach Club at Night. Previously only open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the upscale beach club is now

also open on Thursday beginning at 10:30 p.m. Known for its world-class deejays, Encore Beach Club will continue to raise the bar for music lovers throughout the season with a diverse roster of talent that includes four-time Grammy Award- winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who will perform a full production show on July 4.

Wet Republic at MGM Grand is enhancing its already memorable experience, thanks to several recent additions. The second phase of a two-year remodel, the popular dayclub (open Thursday through Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) recently un- veiled an additional 1,500 square feet, including newly installed restroom and shower facilities, an extended shaded area and six VIP bungalows accompanied by three private plunge pools. These changes build on last year’s ultra pool upgrades, which include new furniture and an even more awesome LED display.

While many adults-only pools are known for being boisterous, Azure Luxury Pool at the Palazzo offers guests a more sophisticated daytime experience. Tucked away on the Venetian and Palazzo’s expansive pool complex, this hidden gem features two secluded pools, a spacious hot tub, 11 stylish cabanas with top-of-the-line amenities such as gaming consoles and iPads, and a mouthwatering menu from Wolfgang Puck. Open Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., guests can even unwind with a poolside massage from Canyon Ranch SpaClub. Talk about living in the lap of luxury!
