Surviving New Year’s in Sin City

Whether it’s your first New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas or you count down the final hours of every year in Sin City, here is some important information to keep in mind while ringing in 2016.

1. Though it’s OK to consume alcoholic beverages while strolling the Strip and Fremont Street Experience, no glass bottles or aluminum containers are allowed. All drinks must be in plastic containers.

2. Select streets are closed off for pedestrians, and the Las Vegas Monorail is a great way to get from one end of the Strip to the other.

3. Some businesses, like the Forum Shops at Caesars, close early on New Year’s Eve.

4. The most crowded spots to view the fireworks on the Strip are at intersections with major cross streets.

5. Guests are welcome to visit the hotels along Fremont Street Experience from the outside entrances if they don’t have a Downtown Countdown wristband. However, they won’t be able to visit the outdoor mall area.

6. Finally, rooms get booked up early — especially rooms with a view. So be sure to make your New Year’s Eve reservation as soon as possible.
