Ask Laz: Does your car really need a front license plate?

The California Department of Motor Vehicles offers no wiggle room when it comes to license plates.

Kimberly says she got a ticket recently because she didn’t have a license plate on the front of her new Jaguar. She wants to know if a front license plate is really required, even if, as is the case with her wheels, there’s no place to attach it.
