Pottery Barn recalls doll strollers due to injuries

Some 21,000 doll strollers sold by Williams-Sonoma Inc’s Pottery Barn Kids stores are being recalled because of reports of serious cuts, including one child who had a finger partially severed, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said today.

The strollers were made in China for manufacturer Lan Enterprises of Portland, Ore., the safety agency said.

The pink Mini Zooper doll strollers were sold at Pottery Barn Kids retail stores and Web site from October 2005 through June 2007 for about $50.

The safety agency said the recall was ordered because a child’s finger can become caught in the side hinge or metal clip. There have been three reports of serious cuts, including a 2-year-old boy who had a finger partially severed, it said.

Consumers should contact Pottery Barn Kids for a repair kit, the agency said.
