Twitter adds more content to expanded tweets
Twitter’s expanded tweets feature will now support more content from more places.
As Twitter users know, when you click on some tweets that include pictures or YouTube videos, the tweet expands to let you see more. Now that same type of expansion will also show the top parts of articles from various publications, videos from other websites and images from more sources, Twitter announced Wednesday.
“When you expand a tweet linking to a news article by the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle or Der Spiegel Online, you can see a preview with the headline, the introduction and sometimes the Twitter accounts of the publisher and writer,” Michael Sippey, Twitter’s product team director, said on the company’s blog.
The Wall Street Journal,MSNBC’s Breaking News and Time were also mentioned in the blog post.

Content from news sources will expand to show the article’s headline and introduction and the Twitter handles of its publisher and author.
Photos will be shown from websites such as WWE, BuzzFeed and TMZ. And with video, clips from shows like BET’s “106 & Park” will now be included as well as websites like Lifetime and Dailymotion.
Twitter said the addition will roll out to all Twitter users, meaning there’s a chance you may not get it right away (I, for example, don’t have the feature enabled yet). The change will also come soon to Twitter’s iOS and Android apps.
