Volkswagen’s 2013 Bettle Convertible will go on sale next month with a starting price of $24,995, the German automaker said Wednesday at the L.A. Auto Show.

The new Volkswagen Beetle Convertible was announced earlier this year and it is the third generation of the ragtop model, following in the footsteps of the type 15 introduced in 1949 and the New Beetle Convertible that was introduced in 2003.

The coupe will be available in three different engine options.

The first is a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that can crank 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque with six-speed automatic transmission.

The Beetle Convertible will also be available in a fuel-efficient option with a 2.0-liter TDI Clean Diesel four-cylinder engine. It can make 140 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque, and it is available with either a six-speed manual or six-speed DSG transmission.

You can also get the upcoming Volkswagen with a 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI four-cylinder engine that’ll make 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. It’s also available in either six-speed manual or six-speed DSG automatic transmissions.

The Beetle Convertible’s top is available in either black or beige. The top lowers in 9.5 seconds with the push of a button and can be operated at speeds of up to 31 mph.

Volkswagen said there will be three special editions of the vehicle upon its launch. One is a 1950s styling with a black exterior and a tan interior, a 1960s version with a denim blue exterior and a 1970s edition with a brown exterior.
