New ad shows Galaxy S III can share videos, even suggestive ones

Samsung gets a little suggestive in its latest ad for the popular Android phone.

The ad, which was posted to YouTube on Wednesday, touts the GS3’s Near Field Communications technology, which lets the phone transfer files to other NFC-enabled devices simply by tapping them together.

In this particular ad, which you can watch above, a man is saying goodbye to his family before getting in a cab to leave for a business trip. Using their GS3 phones, his wife sends him a video made by their children as one of their daughters says “Watch it on the airplane!”

The woman then follows her husband once he’s in the cab and tells him she also made him a video.

“Aw, that’s so sweet,” the husband says before they tap the phones to transfer the video.

“But you probably shouldn’t watch on the plane,” the wife says flirtatiously.

The cab drives off with the man looking surprised as Samsung’s GS3 slogan, “The next big thing is here,” comes on the screen.

The ad, titled “Work Trip,” is one of three new ads touting GS3 features.

Samsung also promotes the GS3’s NFC technology in another ad uploaded Wednesday titled “Date Night.” The commercial shows a man and a woman on a date when the man suggests playing some music, then puts on “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls.

Fortunately for the two, both have GS3 phones and the woman has a better song selection. She sends him a song better suited for the situation by tapping their phones and the date is saved.

Samsung’s third ad from Wednesday focuses on the GS3’s 4.8-inch screen.

The ad, titled “Game On,” shows two friends playing a game while they wait at a bus stop. One of the friends is using an iPhone 4 or 4S, not an iPhone 5 as The Verge points out, and is losing. He complains that he can’t see the game while his friend is busy beating him on her GS3.

“How am I supposed to win?” he asks. “Your screen is like as big as my phone.”

The three ads are follow-ups to Samsung’s commercials that launched last month, which poke fun at Apple fans waiting in line for the iPhone 5. It’ll be interesting to see if Apple fires back.
