Live: Unboxing the BlackBerry Z10 [Video chat]

The BlackBerry Z10 touchscreen smartphone will make its U.S. debut next week, but we just got a pair that we’ll unbox live at 12 p.m.

The new BlackBerry device is the first to run the Canadian tech company’s new BlackBerry 10 operating system.

The Z10 features a 4.2-inch HD screen, 16 gigabytes of internal storage and an 8-megapixel rear camera. The LTE smartphone uses a 1.5-GHz dual-core processor and has a microSD memory card slot that can be used to expand its storage.

Join the Times’ Michelle Maltais, Andrea Chang and me as we unbox the BlackBerry Z10 and take an early look at the device. Viewers can join in on the discussion and share any questions they have about the device.

The BlackBerry Z10 is available for pre-order now from both AT&T; and Verizon Wireless. AT&T; will ship pre-orders by March 22, the same day it will begin selling in stores. Verizon customers can pick up the phone in stores on March 28, or pre-order to get it on that day.

T-Mobile will also sell the phone but has not said when consumers can begin ordering it.
