ConAgra recalls chocolate chip cookie dough packages over mix-up

ConAgra foods has recalled some Kroger’s chocolate chip cookie dough packages because they actually contain peanut butter cookie dough.

People with a peanut allergy are at risk, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Sunday, but the company reported that the mix-up hasn’t caused any illnesses so far.

The voluntary recall affects an unspecified number of cookie dough packages sold under the Kroger’s brand in 26 states, including California. They were sold at grocery stores that include Kroger’s, Food 4 Less, Ralphs and Smith’s.

The recall is limited to 16-ounce packages of Kroger’s Break ‘N Bake chocolate chip cookie dough with the universal product code 11110 87530 and a use-by date of Nov. 24.

The company said consumers who purchased the product can return it where they purchased the cookie dough and receive a refund.
