Google’s next tablet will feature a 10-inch screen and will be announced next week, according to a report.

The Next Web is saying the Mountainview, Calif., tech company plans to announce a tablet called the Nexus 10 at the Oct. 29 Android event for which Google sent invitations last week.

The tech site, which cites an unnamed source, says the Nexus 10 is being built by Samsung and will feature a 2,560 by 1,600 pixel resolution display with a 300 pixel per inch density (ppi).

On paper, that’s better than the third generation iPad’s Retina display, which has a 2,048 by 1,536 pixel resolution with 264 ppi.

The report also says Google will announce an updated version of its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system.
