An iPad mini with Retina display? Rumor of next iPad mini hits the Web

Share

The rumor mill is already cranking up for the next iPad mini, with a report suggesting that the new tablet will have a better display.

The Digitimes website has put out a report saying the next iteration of the 7.9-inch Apple tablet will have a higher resolution display. The report, which cites unnamed sources, doesn’t say the improved display will use Apple’s Retina technology, but it says there’s a good chance it might.

The iPad mini has been on sale a little more than a month, but it seems it’s never too early to talk about what Apple will do next.

No other details about the next iPad mini, such as an expected release date, are included in the report, but Digitimes does say that the next version of the iPad is expected to be lighter. The report says Apple will do this by removing one of the tablet’s LED light bars.

Digitimes also recently reported that its sources expect Apple to release the next iPhone and the fifth-generation iPad next summer.

Digitimes is often criticized for getting Apple rumors wrong, but as 9 to 5 Mac points out, it has a good track record when it comes to reporting about Apple device screens.
