Top 10 most-missed Baltimore menu items, part 2 [Pictures]
Fans of the old Pimlico Hotel on Park Heights Avenue told us about the egg rolls, the chicken Kiev and the Coffey Salad. The last, named for the longtime Pimlico waitress who created it, was described on the menu as a “garden-fresh medley of lettuce, tomato and onion accented with anchovies, hard-boiled egg, garlic and freshly grated imported Parmesan.” The original Pimlico Hotel closed in 1991.
We had such a great response to last week’s list of the top 10 most-missed Baltimore menu items that we decided to come back with 10 more this week. We asked readers to tell us about the dishes they missed most. For the most part, it wasn’t specific food people missed -- but the places where they enjoyed them. We tried to take that into account here. We’ve enjoyed taking this nostalgic look at food and dining, but we’re ready to come back into the present. We’re hungry, and we want something great.
