It looks like “The Biggest Loser” is tipping the ratings scales a bit less than the last time around.

The NBC weight-loss reality show, which opened its 15th season Tuesday night on NBC, drew 7 million viewers and a rating of 2.2 in the key 18-49 demographic, according to early figures from Nielsen.

The demo number is down 27% from its last season premiere in January, which got a special airing on a Sunday night. The rating fell from last season’s comparable first episode in its regular time slot by 8%.

However, “Biggest Loser” is up in total viewers. It’s up 10% compared with last season’s Monday premiere and also increased slightly compared with the Sunday fourteenth season debut.

NBC’s ratings juggernaut “The Voice” is going strong with more battle rounds. The show drew 12.7 million viewers and brought in a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is, unsurprisingly, way up from last week’s episode that recapped the auditions. “The Voice” was the top show of the night in the key demo, though it was down about 13% from its last non-recap Tuesday telecast.

“Chicago Fire,” which has benefited from the big “Voice” lead-in, increased its rating 14% from last week.

Coulson’s team of agents are holding on to audience members for ABC.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” drew an average of 7.7 million viewers and a rating of 2.7 in the advertiser-desired demographic, according to the early Nielsen numbers. It was down slightly from last week’s numbers in the demo and essentially flat in total viewership.

“S.H.I.E.L.D.,” a series based in Joss Whedon’s “Avengers” blockbuster that skews generally younger, picked up viewers in all the 18-34 demographics, with an episode in which Coulson tracked a former agent who went over to the dark side.

Following “S.H.I.E.L.D.,” ABC’s new comedies “The Goldbergs” and “Trophy Wife” both fell double digits among 18-to-49-year-old viewers. “The Goldbergs” scored a 1.6 rating while “Trophy Wife” attracted a 1.3.

CBS continued to bring in big numbers with “NCIS” (18.4 million viewers), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (14.7 million) and “Person of Interest” (12.4 million). “NCIS” and “Person of Interest” rose in the demo -- 3.0 and 2.1, respectively -- while “NCIS: Los Angeles” was flat. CBS was the most-watched of the broadcast networks, though NBC won in the demo.

Fox’s new comedies were steady this week. “Dads,” the politically incorrect Seth MacFarlane show, rose 8% to a 1.4 and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was flat from last week at 1.5. “New Girl” fell 14% to a 1.8 and “Mindy Project” was even at a 1.4.

With “The Originals” and “Supernatural,” CW had its highest-rated Tuesday night in four years with a 1.1. “The Originals,” a spinoff of “Vampire Diaries,” increased 22% to a 1.1 in 18-49 compared with last week for a series high.

[For the record: This post has been updated to include additional total viewership numbers for “Biggest Loser,” which were up compared with the last season debut, while its demo rating was down.]
