TV ratings: ‘Super Fun Night’ and ‘Ironside’ fall
Rebel Wilson’s new show was less super in the ratings this week. Coming off a decent start for last week’s premiere, ABC’s “Super Fun Night” fell about 22% in the key 18-49 age demographic, according to early numbers from Nielsen.
In the advertiser-desired 18-49 category, the comedy, about a group a sheltered female friends who try to expand their horizons with weekly outings, drew a 2.5 rating. A ratings point equals about 1.3 million viewers.
The show brought in 6.7 million viewers overall, but its numbers are likely inflated because of “Modern Family,” which ran a minute into “Super Fun Night’s” time slot.
“Modern Family,” down slightly from last week to a 3.8, was the highest-rated show of the night in the demographic, and it drew more than 10.4 million viewers.
Wednesday night had no week-to-week gainers on the major broadcast networks.
“Ironside,” NBC’s new cop drama starring Blair Underwood, fell about 15% to a 1.1 from its weak debut last week, and it had 5.2 million viewers. “Revolution” was down slightly to a 1.5, while “Law & Order: SVU” dropped 20% to a 1.6.
CBS won across the board in viewership with episodes of “Survivor,” “Criminal Minds” and “C.S.I.” The network’s average audience was 9.71 million.
In the key demographic, ABC tied with CBS with a 2.3 rating.
Fox’s “The X Factor” decreased 8% to a 2.2 in the 18-49 category, compared with last Wednesday.
On CW, “Arrow” returned for a second season, and its premiere, with a 0.9 in 18-49 and 2.7 million viewers, was down from last season’s opener, but the network expects a big lift from people watching the episode after the original air date. “Tomorrow People” got off to a solid start, with 2.32 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.
