Share

The 55th Grammy Awards are taking place this Sunday at Staples Center at L.A. Live and, as usual, the awards show will have no shortage of musicians, rock glam and unusual performance mashups.

The show will be broadcast live on CBS on the East Coast from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will air on the West Coast on tape delay from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Pacific Time.

The red carpet, perhaps of a much more mild variety, begins at 12 p.m. Pacific time but will start filling up with talent at about 2 p.m.

Ten awards are doled out during the three-hour televised show, which will consist of collaborative performances by legends and pop stars. This year’s musical pairings include Miguel and Wiz Khalifa; Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Sting; Elton John and Ed Sheeran; the Black Keys and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and a Levon Helm tribute performed by Mavis Staples, Brittany Howard and Mumford & Sons. Musician, actor and two-time Grammy Award winner LL Cool J will return to host the concert-style ceremony for a second time.

The pre-telecast announcement of about 70 winners will be streamed online at Grammys.com and CBS from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. It will take place next door to Staples Center at the Nokia Theatre and be hosted by David Alan Grier, who is nominated for a Grammy this year in the musical theater category for the play “The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess.”
