TV ratings: ‘Voice’ gains, ‘DWTS’ falls among young viewers

“The Voice” regained some of its young-adult audience Monday after missing a beat last week as the series transitioned into live-competition mode.

The NBC singing competition, now in its second week of live rounds, drew nearly 11.9 million viewers, on average, and a rating of 3.8 in the key 18-49 demographic, up 6% from last Monday, according to early numbers from Nielsen. The show was the highest-rated telecast of the night. It led into the James Spader-starring drama “The Blacklist,” which rose 3% to a 3.0 in the demo and brought in 10.7 million viewers.

NBC won the night in the advertiser-desired 18-49 demo, for which a ratings point equals about 1.3 million viewers, with a 3.5.

ON LOCATION: Where the cameras roll

With a rating of 2.3, Fox came in second among the major networks as the modern Ichabod Crane drama “Sleepy Hollow” and “Bones” matched their ratings from last week (a 2.5 and a 2.0, respectively).

CBS has settled into its revamped Monday lineup, leading off with the second-highest-rated series of the night, “How I Met Your Mother,” which fell 9% to a 3.1 in 18-49. After a slightly up “Two Broke Girls,” “Mike & Molly” scored a 2.2 rating, down 15% from its season premiere last week.

Freshman series “Mom,” starring Anna Faris and Allison Janney, fell 5% to a 1.9. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced “Hostages” held its 1.1 rating from last week.

Although ABC came in fourth in the demo, it was the most-watched network overall. “Dancing With the Stars,” the Monday program with the biggest audience (12.5 million viewers), fell 15% to a rating of 1.7. “Castle” fell 14% to a 1.9.
