Academy Awards 2014: Lupita Nyong’o keeps it personal in Prada
What I’m loving about the Oscars so far is the individual style statements -- Pharrell Williams in shorts and Lupita Nyong’o in what she calling Nairobi blue.
“This is Prada and it was made for me. It’s a blue that reminds me of Nairobi and I wanted to have a little bit of home,” Nyong’o told Ryan Seacrest.
The gown is sweet and striking with the kind of plunging neckline I wish Amy Adams was wearing.

Nyong’o is also decked out in some exceptional Fred Leighton jewelry, especially that chic, chic, chic diamond-and-gold headband. (If there is such a thing as a hair accessories trade association, its members should send her a room full of flowers.) She also chose a yellow gold frog ring, which she explained to Seacrest is “her family totem.”
The “12 Years a Slave” actress looks like the awards season darling that she is. What a perfect choice.
