Arnold Schwarzenegger freaks out Hollywood tourists as the Terminator

Share

Arnold Schwarzenegger brought Hollywood magic to Hollywood Boulevard recently, dressing up as the Terminator and generally messing with people’s heads.

“He looks real,” said one woman posing with what she thought was a Schwarzenegger wax figure at Madame Tussauds. “That’s because I am,” the actor said, coming to life and scaring the bejeezus out of her. And she was far from the only person to be surprised.

Video of the day’s shenanigans — an effort by the “Terminator: Genisys” actor to raise awareness of the After-School All-Stars children’s charity — shows visitors at Tussauds flipping out, one after the other, as Schwarzenegger reveals himself as real. Those trademark shades, along with the character’s deadpan personality, helped a lot in creating the illusion.

The action hero also took his show on the road — er, the boulevard — and faced off with Terminator impersonators, hurling catch phrases honed by years of practice. “Don’t bump my selfie stick,” he said as he walked through crowds on the sidewalk, almost blending in with the usual Hollywood Boulevard crowd.

A truck driver did what he was told and got out of his truck, but a lovely young couple played it cool and did not run to safety with the Terminator.

Because that couldn’t have been the real Schwarzenegger, right? No rubes here.
