Bobby Brown was sentenced Tuesday to 55 days in jail and four years’ informal probation after pleading no contest to a DUI charge — one of two such arrests he had last year.

Call it the “fool us once” sentence?

Brown also pleaded no contest to driving with a suspended license. He’ll be required to complete an 18-month alcohol-treatment program, and has been ordered to hit three Alcoholics Anonymous meetings a week.

He got 10 days for drunk driving, another 10 days for driving on a suspended license and 35 days for violating his probation on his prior 2012 DUI, L.A. Now reported. Brown will also get an ignition interlock device on his vehicle — one of those things that tests blood-alcohol level before allowing the ignition to turn over.

The New Edition singer had been sentenced to a day in jail and three years’ probation for the March 26 arrest, which happened in the early afternoon after he was first pulled over in the Valley for talking on his cellphone while driving. He also checked into rehab as part of that deal, but reportedly quickly checked out after only three weeks.

The second arrest happened in the wee hours of Oct. 24, again in the Valley. He was out on $25,000 bail by 8 a.m.

The singer was previously convicted of DUI in 1996.

Brown, who was once married to the late Whitney Houston, is due to check into jail by March 20. New Edition is scheduled to play a show June 30 at Staples Center, as part of the three-day BET Experience with R. Kelly and the Jacksons. Beyonce is headlining the first night, June 28.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
