Justin Bieber goes on a rant; Lindsay Lohan is collateral damage

Remember what Justin Bieber looked like flailing away last week as he tried to fight a bothersome paparazzo in London? Imagine that done in words on Instagram, and you have what the Biebs did Thursday morning.

The pop star — who recently had a bumpy, headline-fueling trip to London — posted what started as a rant protesting the “countless lies in the press right now” and defending himself specifically against claims that he’s headed to rehab and that his grandparents were disappointed with him.

And then he said a bunch of nice stuff about himself.

“My family is beyond proud and nothing’s been said by them,” he wrote. “my grandparents wouldnt know how to reach to press even of they did want to so that was a lie and rehab cmon. if Anyone believes i need rehab thats their own stupidity lol I’m 19 with 5 number one albums, 19 and I’ve seen the whole world. ... I know my talent level and i know i got my head on straight.”

He didn’t get the document quite right the first time, however. In the first incarnation of his post, which reportedly came down 10 minutes after it went up, he took a pot shot at another headline-grabber, telling “those comparing me to Lindsey Lohan” to “look at her 2012 tax statements ;).”

Ouch. Not to mention tacky.

The entire statement came down, got an edit and went back up, sans pot shot.

“My post was only up for a few minutes but I realized right away that what I said at the end was wrong and distracted from what I was trying to say,” Bieber later said to TMZ. “I immediately deleted it and rewrote it so it would show what I was really feeling and those words are up now.”

And maybe there wasn’t that much flailing. Certainly less bad language than when he tangled with the paparazzo.

Witness more from the Instagram rant:

“I’m writing this with a smile on my face and love in my heart,” he wrote, causing the Ministry to envision birds chirping and woodland creatures busying themselves with tasks more often done by humans. “Letting u know first hand how I feel rather than have these story linger.”

So what does the Biebs want the world to know, aside from the basics about his message being to “believe” and to “never say never”?

“I’m a good person with a big heart,” he wrote. “And don’t think I deserve all this negative press I’ve worked my ass off to get where I am and my hard work doesn’t stop here...

And then there’s the closer, added when he deleted the Lindsay line:

“All this isn’t easy. I get angry sometimes. I’m human. I’m gonna make mistakes. In gonna grow and get better from them. But all the love from you guys overcomes the negativity. I love u. Thanks.”

So ... who you gonna believe?
