Lamas was rushed to the hospital on Feb. 9 after collapsing in her Orange County home, according to reports. She suffered internal bleeding and underwent an emergency hysterectomy to stop it, had a cardiac arrest scare and was placed in a medically induced coma, TMZ said. She remained in the ICU for several days.

“I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me. Thank you to my father and his wife, my mother, my sisters, my grandmother and New York family, my husband’s family, and to my husband for never leaving my side,” she added. “Nik, your strength can never be measured. I love you.”

Following her tragedy, Lamas, the daughter of soap star Lorenzo Lamas, encouraged fans to donate blood.

“To everyone out there, please donate blood. You can save a life like mine,” she said. “In loving memory of my son, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie.”

Lamas and Richie, who are parents to daughter Press Dahl, chose to name their late son Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie. In a touching note posted Wednesday, Richie thanked “R.J.” for saving his mother’s life.
