It seems Disney is not through revisiting its classics.

Hero Complex has confirmed that Disney is developing a new original live-action musical featuring Mary Poppins, and it’s reportedly not a sequel. The news was originally reported by Entertainment Weekly.

“Into the Woods” director Rob Marshall has been tapped to helm the project along with producers John DeLuca and Marc Platt.

The 1964 “Mary Poppins” was loosely based on the P.L. Travers book series of the same name and starred Julie Andrews as the practically perfect magical nanny who descended upon the Banks family out of the sky.

The new film will be set in a later period, Depression-era London, and will also draw from Travers’ book series to explore Mary’s continuing adventures with the Banks family. “Life of Pi” scribe David Magee is attached to write the screenplay.

Songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (of “Hairspray” fame) will compose the new score and original songs.
