Inara George Best known as half of the indie-pop group the Bird and the Bee, the singer-songwriter pays tribute to song craftsmen Burt Bacharach and Hal David with an alfresco concert. George and special guests, including John C. Reilly, Justine Kragen and James Combs, will perform hits from the Bacharach-David repertoire. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, 1419 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga. 2 p.m. $25-$40. (310) 455-3723. https://www.theatricum.com.

Big Black Delta The new project from Mellowdrone frontman Jonathan Bates is synth-heavy and almost danceable but with one foot deep in noise-scene scuzz and tribal percussion (courtesy of two female drummers). The project also has a bit of sci-fi intrigue — the band brings its own mesmerizing light apparatus onstage. It holds down the Satellite’s residency all month. The Satellite, 1717 Silver Lake Blvd., L.A. 9 p.m. Free. thesatellitela.com.

The Beach Boys The Boys, albeit in a form without Brian Wilson, will bring their harmonizing ways to the L.A. County Fair. The Southern California outfit recently announced that the long-ago shelved “Smile” sessions will finally see the light of day in official form Nov. 1, when Capitol Records releases a double album set nearly 45 years after the material was recorded. Don’t expect any numbers from Wilson’s “teenage symphony to God,” but the breezy standards, from “Surfin’” to “Kokomo,” will be aired. L.A. County Fair at Pomona Fairplex, 1101 W. McKinley Ave. Pomona. 7:30 p.m. $23.50-$113. https://www.lacountyfair.com.
