Thurston Moore The Sonic Youth frontman had an excellent album of acoustic-centered songs, “Demolished Thoughts,” out earlier this year, and it underlined the writing beneath his band’s volley of feedback (with an added production assist from Beck). From Start to Finish: The Story of ‘Gray Column’ This documentary tracks sculptor De Wain Valentine as he crafts a giant, well, gray column. Los Angeles Goes Live This exhibition, performance series and publication project explores the histories and legacies of performance art in the Southland from the ‘70s to early ‘80s.
