Wynonna Judd’s husband, Cactus Moser, loses leg in motorcycle wreck

Cactus Moser, husband of Wynonna Judd, had his left leg amputated above the knee at a Rapid City, S.D., hospital following a motorcycle accident Saturday.

His leg was “severed at the scene of the accident,” according to a statement from a Judd rep. Judd and Moser had been riding a couple of motorcycles before their show in Deadwood, S.D., when he drifted across the center line and collided with an oncoming car.

Moser, a drummer in Judd’s band, also had surgery done on one of his hands. Wynonna was not hurt.

The couple “appreciate all of the quick medical and police responders as well as the hospital staff and well-wishes from family, friends and fans,” the rep said Monday.

The drummer had been taken by helicopter from the scene to the hospital, according to the Rapid City Journal, which also said the South Dakota Highway Patrol was citing him for driving on the wrong side of the road and not having a license to operate a motorcycle.

Moser and Judd wed in Tennessee in June.

“Cactus is a champion. I love him deeply, and I will not leave his side,” said Wynonna.
