Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill and wife expecting a baby

The Kings of Leon might need to consider renaming their band the Babies of Leon. Drummer Nathan Followill and his wife are expecting a baby.

“I can proudly announce that me & the lovely @JessieBaylin are expecting our first child. I’m beyond excited/anxious. Life is beautiful,” the drummer tweeted Wednesday.

Followill, 33, and his wife, folk singer Jessie Baylin, are excited about the newest member of their family, who is due in December, the band’s spokesman Ken Weinstein told the Associated Press.

“They are two of the most excited people I know,” he added in a statement.

The news comes one week after Nathan’s brother Caleb Followill and his wife, model Lily Aldridge, had their daughter, Dixie Pearl. It also comes a day after Nathan Followill’s 33rd birthday, which he celebrated Tuesday.

“Happy Birthday to my husband @doctorfollowill- #1 love, partner in crime 4 ever. X” tweeted Baylin.

Totally adorable, right?

Followill and Baylin met at the Bonnaroo music festival in 2006. There were married in a rustic barn at Wolf Den Farm in Brentwood, Tenn., in 2009.

The youngest of the Followills, 25-year-old Jared, announced his engagement to model-girlfriend Martha Patterson in May.

While the band of brothers has kept a fairly low profile since an exhaustion incident last summer, Baylin has been touring and promoting her third album, “Little Spark.”

Can we expect Spark to be the new offbeat celebrity baby name? Probably not, but you never know.
