Heidi Klum nixes Halloween party because of Sandy's devastation

Heidi Klum has postponed what would have been her first post-breakup Halloween party.

The "Project Runway" host, known for her elaborate costume parties (and appropriately elaborate costumes) shut down the festivities in the wake of super storm Sandy, which has killed at least 38 and essentially closed New York City for business.

"Hope you & your loved ones are safe after the storm. Canceling my Halloween party...postponing to a haunted Christmas," she wrote Tuesday on Twitter, posting a picture of herself on a deserted and damp NYC street.

Klum, who last year showed up without her skin for a shindig in Las Vegas and as one of a couple of monkeys in New York City for the official fete days later, had planned to don a Cleopatra costume for this year's bash.

She and husband Seal separated in January after seven years of marriage.
