Daniel Radcliffe’s Out cover story reveals a few choice tidbits

Daniel Radcliffe’s Out magazine cover story teaches us a couple of very important things. One, he seems like a really decent guy who gets along with just about everybody when he’s on a movie set. Two, he’s circumcised.

Radcliffe, who plays Allen Ginsberg in the film “Kill Your Darlings” — it premiered at Sundance last month — was resolutely unfazed about playing a gay man, according to the mag.

“You never see a gay actor getting asked what it’s like to play straight — to my knowledge, at least, there is no difference in how heterosexual and homosexual people fall in love,” Radcliffe said.

One thing he seemed less secure about, however, was his acting in the “Harry Potter” movies, which served as a training ground since he was 10 years old.

“I certainly wouldn’t watch number three, I wouldn’t watch the first two, I wouldn’t watch four,” he said, referring to the various films in the franchise. “I might watch five. I definitely wouldn’t watch six.”

Well, five it is then. Good to know.

“He literally gets to know the names of every member of his crew on set and remembers them,” “Darlings” director John Krokidas told Out. “On our set, he was playing Words With Friends with some of the P.A.s — he’s that guy.”

Now back to that other thing, which we learned in passing as Krokidas recalled his decision to go after Radcliffe to play Ginsberg.

“Before I sent out the script, I said, ‘Oh ... Daniel’s not Jewish,’ and my boyfriend said, ‘Of course he’s Jewish -- everyone in the world knows that. Didn’t you see the shots from ‘Equus’? He’s only British from the waist up.’”

“Equus,” of course, is the stage show in which Radcliffe famously appeared nude.
