Jennifer Love Hewitt talks baby Autumn, married life on ‘Ellen’

What a difference a baby makes. Jennifer Love Hewitt appeared Tuesday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” scaling back her signature va-va voom look to ma-ma-mommy chic.

The newly blond “Client List” star welcomed her daughter Autumn in November, just after tying the knot with her costar baby daddy-turned-fiance-turned-husband, Brian Hallisay.

The bombshell appeared on “Ellen” sporting a new hairstyle to get her “momjo” back, according to People. But that wasn’t the only aspect of character’s call-girl look that was significantly altered. Hewitt, 35, wore a demure white blouse with black pants and topped it off with red blazer -- a major departure from the sexy peplum look she previously wore on the show, she previously wore on the show, distracting both the host and her co-host Matthew Perry back in April 2013.

Turns out Hewitt was about six weeks along in her pregnancy when she donned that “little wowzers” LBD for the guesting gig.

“I was already pregnant but I couldn’t tell anybody,” the star said Tuesday. “Wardrobe put me in this dress and I was like, ‘Oh ... awesome. This looks great!’”

That could also explain her collaboration with maternity chain A Pea in the Pod, whose launch she also celebrated on Tuesday. A celebration of her line, L by Jennifer Love Hewitt, took place at A Pea in the Pod in Beverly Hils and drew several pregnant Hollywood stars, including “The Office” alum Jenna Fischer, former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson and “Smash” star Megan Hilty.

Hewitt also told DeGeneres that Autumn, who is about 4 months old, is a big fan of the talk show.

“She’s fantastic. She’s sleeping better now, not so much in the beginning, which was a little rough. But, she’s a great sleeper now,” the actress said. “She watches your show every day .... We both get very excited when the theme song starts and she watches you dance .... The second the show comes on and you start dancing she does this weird kick thing with her leg and she gets her little chair. She loves it. I think she’s going to be a dancer. I really do. She loves it.”

Hewitt said her daughter also loves Pharrell, Drake, hip-hop and Latin music, and admitted she helps her little girl do the Dougie on occasion. The actress, who posed for the cover of Modern Dog magazine with her rescue dog Duke, added that the pooch is very protective of Autumn and likes to “lick her feet.”

The voluptuous actress is also enjoying all the trappings of wedded bliss, revealing to DeGeneres that she and Hallisay got married five days before their daughter was born.

“It was just the two of us and then we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond because that’s what married people do,” Hewitt said. “It was really sweet and he’s an awesome, incredible father and a great husband and I just feel really lucky. Yeah, it’s awesome.”
