Bridget Jones has baby daddy issues in the official trailer for ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’

A lot has changed since the world first fell in love with Bridget Jones and her diary. But the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Universal Pictures released the official trailer for “Bridget Jones’s Baby” Tuesday, and in it, Jones (Renee Zellweger) is still pouring out her secrets to her diary. It’s just that her diary is now her iPad and her secrets are about to take a turn for the maternal.

As made evident in the first trailer for the film, released in March, Bridget finds herself pregnant after having “relations” with two different men within roughly the same time frame.

Complicating matters further is that one of the men is new beau Jack (Patrick Dempsey) and one is her dreamy, storybook ex-boyfriend Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).

From the new trailer, it appears that both men are eager to play a role in Bridget’s pregnancy, despite her not having an inkling which man has a better claim on daddy duty.

Plus, it would appear that Bridget is catching a bad case of the feelings for at least one of her suitors, if not both.

“Are you in love with him,” Jack asks Bridget, regarding her feelings for Mark.

“I have been. In the past,” she replies.

“And me?” he persists.

“I could be. One day,” Bridget ventures.

Oof. That’s a lot of emotion for a three-minute trailer from a franchise that’s been missing in action for 12 years.

Are you “Team Mark”? “Team Jack”? “Team Why Not Raise The Baby as a Loving Triad”?

The choice is yours. “Bridget Jones’s Baby” arrives in theaters Sept. 16.
