Watch the trailer for Disneynature’s ‘Bears’
Got plans for Earth Day 2014?
If not, Disney has an option for you that’s sure to tug on your heart strings.
Following up on its 2012 nature documentary “Chimpanzee,” which also opened on Earth Day and went on to make $29 million, Disneynature will debut the documentary “Bears,” about a family of bears living in Alaska, on April 18, 2014.
The studio just released the first trailer for the film that tracks the lives of mama bear Sky and her two newborn cubs.
Set to the ubiquitous song “Home” by American Idol alum Philip Phillips, the trailer is heavy on familial bonds, sure to entice nature lovers -- and parents -- everywhere.
The film is directed by Keith Scholey and Alastair Fothergill, the directing duo behind Disneynature’s 2011 film “African Cats,” which was Disney’s 2011 Earth Day entry narrated by Samuel L. Jackson.
And if the bears themselves aren’t cute enough on their own, Disney has already proclaimed its support for the National Park Foundation, vowing to donate an unspecified amount to the official charity of America’s national parks for every ticket purchased during the film’s opening week.
