‘The Revenant’ and ‘Inside Out’ are big winners at the Cinema Audio Society Awards

“The Revenant” and “Inside Out” have won the 52nd Cinema Audio Society Awards for outstanding sound mixing. The awards were announced Saturday at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles.

The sound mixing team of “The Revenant” earned the honor in the motion picture-live action category, while the team of “Inside Out” won for feature animation.

In the television categories, the sound mixing team for Episode 5 of “Fargo: Season 2” won for TV movie or miniseries, and the “Hardhome” episode of “Game of Thrones” won in the hour-long TV series category. The “Connection Lost” episode of “Modern Family” took home the award for half-hour TV series, and “Live From Lincoln Center: Danny Elfman’s Music From the Films of Tim Burton” won for television nonfiction, variety or music series or specials.

ADR mixer Doc Kane received the CAS Achievement Award, and “Trumbo” director Jay Roach earned the CAS Filmmaker Award.
