Cee-Lo Green apologizes again for rape comments

Another day, another Cee-Lo Green apology for saying offensive things about rape on social media.

After the “Forget You” singer born Thomas DeCarlo Calloway pleaded no contest to charges of furnishing a woman with ecstasy in a 2012 incident, he outraged fans when he remarked on Twitter that “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!,” among other unsavory things.

Green, most recently known for his stint as a judge on “The Voice,” had allegedly spiked the woman’s drink at a restaurant, after which she woke up naked in his L.A. hotel room.

Green quickly tried to tamp down the blowback, saying he would “never condone the harm of any women,” and that his remarks had been “taken so far out of context.”

Today, he’s still in damage control mode.

“I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter,” Green wrote. “Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe.”

Reaction to his newest brief apology has not been kind. It adds to a particularly rough day for Green, whose reality show “The Good Life” has also been canceled by TBS -- though apparently for bad ratings, not his recent comments.
