Jon “Too Many Emmys” Stewart, below, hosts “Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs,” the latest edition of the benefit/telethon, with Jerry Seinfeld, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and Katy Perry among the aforementioned “too many stars.” (Comedy Central, 8 p.m)

MONDAY

From that “Psycho” shower scene to Jack Nicholson’s “Here’s Johnny!” to more recent scares in flicks like “The Blair Witch Project” and “The Sixth Sense,” the “Most Scream-Worthy Movie Moments” are counted down in this special. (TV Guide, 9 p.m.)

TUESDAY

Kennedy. Castro. Khrushchev. Fifty years on, one of the closest calls in modern history and those leaders who held the fate of the world in their collective hands are recalled in the new special “Cuban Missile Crisis — Three Men Go to War.” (KOCE, 8 p.m.)

“Don’t Trust the B— in Apartment 23” — unless, of course, you like sexy shenanigans and saucy humor. Then by all means trust her completely. Kristen Ritter is back as the titular bad girl when the sitcom returns for its sophomore season. (ABC, 9:30 p.m.)

WEDNESDAY

Swing for the fences! At press time, it will be the American League’s New York Yankees or Detroit Tigers versus the National League’s San Francisco Giants or St. Louis Cardinals in the “2012 World Series.” (Fox, 4:30 p.m.; also Thu., Sat.)

Sex and this particular city: A diverse group of attractive young people lives, loves and learns valuable life lessons in “DTLA” — that’s Downtown Los Angeles, for you nonhipsters out there in the ‘burbs — in this new adult-themed drama. (Logo, 11 p.m.)

THURSDAY

If money makes the world go around, then “What’s the Earth Worth?” And will that be cash or credit? This new special attempts to put a price tag on our little piece of the solar system by estimating the value of the planet’s remaining resources. (History, 9 p.m.)

FRIDAY

Also-rans and never-weasels: Two former presidential candidates — businessman Herman Cain and consumer advocate Ralph Nader — join a sometime movie star, stand-up comic and MTV veejay in the new special “Pauly Shore’s Pauly-tics.” (Showtime, 9 p.m.)

SATURDAY

Magical mayor Cassie Nightingale (Catherine Bell, below) is bewitched, bothered and bewildered by a series of mysterious crimes in “The Good Witch’s Charm,” the latest installment in the made-for-cable fantasy franchise. (Hallmark, 9 and 11 p.m.)
