Jennifer Love Hewitt tells Kimmel she won’t insure her breasts

Underwriters of the world, we regret to inform you that Jennifer Love Hewitt does not -- repeat, does not -- plan to insure her breasts.

Last week in an interview with USA Today, the “Client List” actress said she was interested in taking out a policy on her famous bust line, which would make her the latest in a long line of celebrities to insure their most celebrated body parts.

But in a visit to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday, Hewitt clarified her stance re: breast insurance.

“I was doing an interview and somebody said, ‘Oh, all of these people are insuring their parts, so they were like, ‘Would you insure the ladies?’ And I said, ‘No, I’m not gonna.’ And they said, ‘How much would you do it for if you did?’ ”

Hewitt claimed the number she threw out -- $2.5 million per breast, for a grand total of $5 million -- was strictly hypothetical and merely an attempt “to get them to move on” that was later “blown out of proportion.”

Phew, glad we got that one cleared up.

Hewitt’s chest is a frequent topic of conversation on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The last time she was on his show, Kimmel presented her with a blown-up version of her own cleavage (in reality, a detail from the “The Client List” billboard across the street from the show). On Monday night, Hewitt told Kimmel she kept the unusual gift in her office for months, where her colleagues enthusiastically posed for pictures.

Alas, it’s now gathering dust in her attic.
