Bristol Palin’s son said an F-word, but which F-word?

Bristol Palin is defending her 3-year-old son, Tripp, after a filmed tantrum on an episode of the family reality show “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” showed the boy dropping a censored F-bomb.

While the initial controversy surrounded the perception that the boy said a homophobic slur, Palin maintains the boy said a different kind of F-word that was offensive but less slurr-y.

“As I’ve said before, I sometimes struggle to raise Tripp,” Palin wrote on Monday. “However, he does NOT use slurs ... Let me be clear. I’m not proud of what he did say. Sadly, he used a different ‘f word.’ ”

In the scene, Tripp throws a fit after being told he can’t go for a swim in a hotel pool. During the course of his tantrum, he tells his Aunt Willow, Bristol’s younger sister, “Go away, you ...”

While Bristol and the show runner, Matt Lutz, have told publications it’s the other F-bomb, many publications, including Gawker and the Huffington Post, heard something else.

Palin does admit to opposing gay marriage but takes issue with bringing her son into the debate.

“I guess the temptation to label my three year old son is just too great for the lefty papers to resist,” she wrote.

The Palin family has run into controversy with homophobic slurs before. In 2010, Willow wrote homophobic things on her Facebook page after a classmate slammed “Sarah Palin’s Alaska, “the TLC reality show starring the former Alaska governor.
