‘Orange Is the New Black’ renewed for Season Four
Netflix’s popular prison comedy-drama “Orange Is the New Black” hasn’t yet released its third season to fans yet, but the streaming service has already picked the series up for a fourth season.
Season Three of the series, created by Jenji Kohen, will appear on Netflix on June 12. A fourth season will appear sometime in 2016.
The series, set in the Litchfield, N.Y., women’s federal prison, stars an ensemble cast that includes Taylor Schilling, Kate Mulgrew, Laura Prepon, Danielle Brooks and Emmy-winner Uzo Aduba as the inmate known as “Crazy Eyes.”
The series really came into its own in the second season, and has won three Emmys, two SAG Awards, two GLAAD Media Awards and a Peabody, among others.
Australian model and actress Ruby Rose will join the cast of the series in Season Three as a new inmate named Stella.
