Crowning Glory: OPI launches Miss Universe nail lacquers

Share

As part of its official sponsorship of the Miss Universe organization, OPI is set to roll out three limited-edition nail lacquers next month that pay homage to the beauty pageant -- a dusky purple dubbed “I’m Feeling Sashy,” a deep black plum shade called “Miss You-niverse” and a textured matte platinum hue called “This Gown Needs a Crown,” which comes with, wait for it … a bejeweled crown ring.

The troika of limited-edition shades ($9) will hit OPI’s regular retail channels in October. That should allow you -- and your manicurist -- to practice nailing that pageant-worthy manicure before the 2013 Miss Universe competition is held on Nov. 9.

(To get in full beauty queen mode, we recommend speeding the drying process of your manicure by employing the “elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist, wrist” parade wave.)

OPI, it’s worth noting, was the official nail care sponsor for the 2013 Miss USA pageant -- a precursor to the Miss Universe competition -- that was held in Las Vegas back in June, and saw Connecticut’s Erin Brady take the title.
