Hat lovers, take note: San Francisco-based Goorin Bros. is throwing a grand-opening celebration for its newest L.A.-area headwear boutique in Studio City on Feb. 12. We’re told there will be raffles, food and musical entertainment for all and Ben Goorin (CEO and great-grandson of founder Cassel Goorin) will be on hand as well. An added bonus? The first 25 customers will receive floral crowns to accessorize their headgear. Goorin Bros. Studio City Hat Shop, 12192 Ventura Blvd., Los Angeles, Feb. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. [Goorin]

It’s too early to tell if this will lead to Strawberry Shortcake short shorts, but greeting card company American Greetings is selling the rights to the pink-haired cartoon to brand licensing company Iconix, which is aiming to revitalize the ‘80s-era character “with possible clothing, toy and TV show or movie deals,” according to a business brief in Wednesday’s print edition of the L.A. Times.

According to fashion industry trade publication WWD, Scott Sternberg’s Band of Outsiders label has decided not to present its fall and winter 2015 womenswear collection during the upcoming New York Fashion Week. It had tentatively been scheduled for Feb. 15. [WWD]
