Jack Spade, Paperless Post launch stationery line for men

Share

Apparel and accessories brand Jack Spade and stationery purveyor Paperless Post have collaborated on a line of party invitations, greeting cards and notecards designed to appeal to the male letter-writing, thank-you-noting, party-planning demographic.

Launching today, the Jack Spade for Paperless Post collection consists of 35 online and print invitations and cards covered in the kinds of things guaranteed to appeal to the man-boy, including camouflage, wood grain, plaids and Repp stripes.

The collection is available as of today through Paperless Post’s website, online-only versions of the design (for manning up those e-invites) start at 25 cents each; paper versions start at $1.05.

Those familiar with the Jack Spade aesthetic will instantly pick up on the quirky sense of humor that manifests itself in things like envelopes lined in photo prints of frozen vegetables (for dinner party invites) or cigarette butts in the sand (for the “beers on the beach” party invites).

While we’re not huge fans of narrow-casting by gender (making the retail “manscape” more “manproppriate,” if you will) this collaboration manages to target the XY demographic in a lighthearted, not to mention stylish, way without pandering to traditional “bro” stereotypes.

And if it manages to get a even a few more guys to pick up a pen and send an actual thank-you note, then the folks at Jack Spade -- and the Paperless Post -- deserve a thank-you note of their own.
