Wondering what to wear for a spring date? The answer is as close as the Shops at Mission Viejo

The mall has teamed with Glamour and GQ magazines for “Make a Date With Style,” a Lookbook Event scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. on the lower level of the mall near Nordstrom.

The event is based on eight pages of spring fashion trends in Glamour and GQ’s April issues.

It will include “style closets” showcasing men’s and women’s looks for different kinds of dates and special occasions, staffed by fashion stylists who can help shoppers determine which looks work for them. In addition, style experts from Glamour and GQ will host stage presentations, beauty stations will offer complimentary grooming touch-ups and there will be other fashion-related promotions, prizes and activities.


The mall is at 555 The Shops at Mission Viejo, located off Crown Valley Parkway near I-5 in Mission Viejo.


Meet fashion designer Whitney Port on her spring tour. Port is slated to show her spring Whitney Eve collection in the park at the Grove from 2 to 3 p.m Saturday in an event sponored by Nordstrom at the Grove. From 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., customers can head to the Savvy shop at Nordstrom to shop the collection and be styled by Port. For a private styling appointment call (323) 930-2230 ext. 1360. Hudson Jeans has scheduled a warehouse sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5900 Triumph St., Commerce. $40 seconds, $60 firsts. No strollers or large bags; don’t wear Hudson jeans to the sale.

Rachel Pally’s seasonal warehouse sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 201 S. Anderson St., Los Angeles.  Resort and Holiday collections -- including White Label (plus sizes) and baby -- will be 60% to 75% off.

Goodwill Southern California plans a one-day vintage fashion sale featuring thousands of items of vintage apparel, including 700 men’s and women’s hats and clothing spanning eras from the 1920s through 1980s. This first-of-its-kind sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwill Community Enrichment Center at Fletcher Square, 3150 N. San Fernando Rd., Los Angeles. Shoppers will be limited to 10 items per person; Merchandise sold as-is, no returns.

The A List consignment boutique at 1080 S. La Cienega Blvd., Ste. 207, Los Angeles, is having its spring sale next week, April 21 through April 25. Save an additional 20% on already discounted merchandise, including leather jackets, furs and boots. Shop hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
