Sara Evans to perform in free concert tonight at the Grove [UPDATED*]

Sara Evans, known for her country tunes like “Born to Fly” and “Suds in the Bucket,” will be the featured performer in a free concert at the Grove on Wednesday evening.

The platinum-selling artist is to appear along with Love and Theft in the concert that’s set to start at 7:30 p.m. in the park at the Grove, 189 The Grove Drive, Los Angeles.

This is part of the Grove’s free summer concert series. Coming up later are Capital Cities with Save the Whale on July 24 and the Backstreet Boys on July 31.

Openings

Scoop NYC hosted a holiday pop-up shop in Beverly Hills last fall, and now has converted the space at 265 N. Beverly Drive into a permanent location. The shop offers a variety of designer labels for women and men.

Tumi, known for its luxury travel, business and lifestyle accessories, has opened its first Los Angeles area off-price outlet at Ontario Mills, the giant shopping destination at the intersection of I-10 and I-15 in Ontario.

Rebecca Minkoff’s pop-up sample sale started Wednesday and goes through Sunday at Confederacy, 4661 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles. Minkoff handbags will be 30% to 70% off. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The first ever Tibi Los Angeles sample sale is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday with discounts up to 70% off. The sale will be at the Cooper Design Space, 860 S. Los Angeles St., Ste. 1015, in downtown L.A.

Hudson Jeans plans a two-day warehouse sample sale from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at 5900 Triumph St., Commerce. Merchandise will be 60% to 80% off. In addition, radio station KROQ is to be on site Friday with prizes to give away.

Just One Eye is offering up to 75% off at its warehouse sale this weekend, at 953 N. Orange Drive, Los Angeles. Sale hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.[*Updated at 5:52 p.m. July 17 to reflect a time change on Sunday.]

Burning Torch kicks off its summer sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday with Champagne, cupcakes and discounts of 50% to 75% off. The sale is scheduled to continue through July 28 at the store, 1627 Abbot Kinney Drive, Venice.

Nordstrom’s highly anticipated anniversary sale starts Friday and runs through Aug. 4. Select stores are kicking off the sale with Beauty Bash events on Friday or Saturday.
