New York Fashion Week 2014: Check the style off the runways

During New York Fashion Week, buyers may be trained on the designers and the models going through their paces on the runways, but it's the fashion outside the venues that grabs the attention of social media followers.
Fashion lovers are always on display on social, but during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week they get even more attention with the help of hashtags such as #NYFW, which to date has more than 987,121 mentions, and #StreetStyle, which has 3,138,372 mentions, according to Iconosquare
Below are some of our favorite looks found outside the venues. A turquoise pencil skirt with a side slit and black sandals; a black clutch; oversized sunglasses; a bit of fringe; even SpongeBob makes a #StreetStyle appearance.
