Sézane brings its French style to a monthlong pop-up shop at the Grove

The French brand Sézane makes its West Coast debut this week with a monthlong pop-up at the Grove in Los Angeles, featuring the label’s pretty Parisian offerings.
The 4-year old brand, which opened a New York store last year, was founded by Paris-based Morgane Sezalory, who made her fashion foray by tweaking thrift-store dresses and selling them on eBay. After amassing a loyal following that way, she started her own fashion and accessories label, becoming a French direct-to-consumer label. Sezalory said she believes Parisians and Angelenos share a specific style aesthete.
“California has an effortless lifestyle aspect that is also very French,” she said. “I love the energy of the West. It’s always evolving. … Now is the perfect time for us to venture out to [Los Angeles].”
Expect a varied offering to be packed into the 200-square-foot space such as small home goods and jewelry starting at $40; women’s jeans at $125 and up; and dresses in lush floral prints and happy colors starting at $180. The Sézane pop-up begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, and will be open daily until April 3.

A new capsule collection from Versace for Barneys New York not only celebrates the first time the Milan-based brand is available at the prestige retailer, but is also a nod to the founder of the fashion house, Gianni Versace, through the use some of the iconic prints from Versace’s archives.
The offering of women’s ready-to-wear, footwear and accessories is predicated on signature Versace traits. Think plenty of black-and-gold and Baroque prints, including the iconic Medusa head.
The collection, priced from $250 to $3,675, is available at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills.
Here’s a plan for March: pick up a couple of fashionable everyday T-shirts and support good causes. Los Angeles fashion brand Project Social T is working with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles on its “Make March Matter” campaign.
Every penny raised from the sale of the $40 T-shirt goes to providing life-saving care for patients. The inside of the blue T-shirt is printed with information about the cause.
Also, lingerie brand Lively is launching a new T-shirt in support of International Women’s Day on Thursday.
The $25 cotton tee features the simple message “Confidence Starts Here” over the heart area. Profits from the sale of the shirt will go to I Support the Girls, which donates feminine hygiene products and used bras to homeless women and girls around the country.
Toronto jewelry designer Alan Anderson is making a rare personal appearance in Los Angeles this week, bringing 107 of his acclaimed vintage-infused costume jewelry pieces to Cameron Silver’s luxury vintage store Decades. On show will be vibrant and striking pieces that fit in with Anderson’s theory that big pieces “should be worn daily in random acts of glamour.
“It doesn’t have to be on just a red carpet,” he said. “I like the idea of a big statement collar worn with a white T-shirt and jeans.”
His collection at Decades is “really opulent with amazing colorways,” said Anderson said. Among the offerings are pieces made from vintage Persian turquoise from the 1950s and sparkling citrine and crystal set in rhodium. Anderson usually uses stones that date to the 1920s, many of which have never been mounted, and he makes every piece by hand in his studio. Prices range from $395 to $3,200.
Anderson’s collection will be shown with vintage Halston originals at a trunk show on Wednesday evening; and it will be available at Decades through Sunday.
