‘House of Cards’ star Kate Mara shows a little skin
Actresses Kate Mara and Rooney Mara are some of the best-dressed sisters in Hollywood. Kate, who is currently on the Netflix series “House of Cards,” works with coveted celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek, who is also known for styling singer Katy Perry.
While at the recent Kate Young for Target launch event in New York City, Mara offered a little style advice.
“Just never wear something you’re not comfortable in or that you don’t feel like yourself in, because you’ll never look good,” Mara told the Examiner. “Even if other people say it does, if you’re not comfortable in your own skin, then it’s probably a bad idea.”
Mara always appears comfortable in looks that are feminine and well-fitted. For the Kate Young event, Mara chose a yellow beaded Kate Young for Target dress, and at the recent Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture celebration of the 2013 Vanities Calendar in L.A., she looked stunning in a Peter Som floral skirt and brocade bra top. She continued with sparkles in a Dolce & Gabbana metallic silver frock at the New York premiere of “House of Cards.”
Mara displayed her sartorial range at the recent third annual Coach Evening of cocktails and shopping to benefit the Children’s Defense Fund. Instead of a cocktail dress, Mara opted for pants. She wore a sheer crop top by Vena Cava, Parker peg pants with zippers and Brian Atwood “Wagner” peep-toe heels. She accessorized with a bold Dannijo necklace.
