Noodle Bowl Fest, new year at Bereket, Restaurant Week

Noodle Bowl Fest in West L.A.: The Viceroy Santa Monica will be hosting Noodle Bowl Fest on Feb. 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. Participating restaurants will include traditional noodle houses such as San Gabriel Valley’s Din Tai Fung, Rodded in Thai Town and Tsujita LA, in addition to not-so-traditional establishments contributing their take on noodles like Seoul Sausage and M.B. Post. Dishes will include Rodded’s duck noodle soup, Tsujita LA’s dipping-style ramen served with a tonkotsu soup, Maximiliano’s Filipino chicken noodle soup, M.B. Post’s oxtail and beef brisket pho, Seoul Sausage’s Korean army noodles and more. Bereket’s New Year dinner: Ethiopian supper club Bereket welcomes 2013 with a “New Year, Ancient Cuisine” dinner on Feb. 5 “honoring the spirit of the old in light of celebrating the new.” The seven-course dinner, priced at $70 per person, will be held at an art gallery in Silver Lake (the exact location of the event will be revealed upon making a reservation).
