Hello Kitty eats! Celebrate 40th anniversary with a movable feast

If nibbling on a Hello Kitty pizza with nori whiskers or slurping up a pink frothy boba topped with fresh strawberries sounds enticing, Sanrio can make those savory and sweet dreams come true.

Hello Kitty fans are now roaming the city ordering Sanrio's Hungry Hunt dishes and treats and collecting the corresponding pins. This edible adventure spans from West L.A. to downtown with 11 participating restaurants and cafes.

There will be more Hello Kitty-themed food trucks and snacks at Hello Kitty Con this weekend, making celebrating Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary even more delicious.

You can start with Café Dulcé's house-made doughnuts in chocolate and strawberry; they come topped with Hello Kitty's iconic bow. Or maybe go to Chado Tea Room for tiny Hello Kitty scones with jam and strawberry cream.

Duff Goldman's Charm City Cakes West is whipping up chocolate cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream and a red bow. And in addition to offering an entire department of Hello Kitty candies, Dylan's Candy Bar at The Grove is serving up a vanilla sundae topped with fresh strawberries, rainbow sprinkles, whipped cream, and a Hello Kitty cookie.

In the mood for something more savory? Ramen plus Hello Kitty nori equals super cute noodle heaven at Daikokuya Sawtelle. The Plan Check bento meal features a cheeseburger with pink cheese, served with French fries, a tuna tataki salad, a strawberry topped cruller doughnut and a green tea latte topped with Hello Kitty.

The Hello Kitty sausage special at Seoul Sausage comes wrapped in brown paper and a red and white polka dot band, rubber-stamped with Hello Kitty and with an apple and heart for the cutest packaging of all of the Hungry Hunt bites.

There's a Hello Kitty sushi roll at Zip Sushi & Izakaya in Little Tokyo. And, of course, it's hard to beat Hello Kitty's face on a pizza at Xlixe Pizza in Little Tokyo, which comes topped with olive eyes, a pineapple nose, nori whiskers and a pepperoni red bow.

There are even Hello Kitty drinks. At Lemonade's downtown location the Hello Kitty cherry lemonade comes with a Hello Kitty Lemonade pin. And at Lollicup on Sawtelle, the Hello Kitty boba is a frosty strawberry creation.
