Let’s Be Frank debuts a line of dog treats: Frankies

I don’t have a dog -- yet. But I’m studying up on everything related while I get used to the idea. Dog beds. Leashes. Stylish dog bowls. Dog food.

And in the category of treats for my imaginary dog, it would have to be Frankies, dubbed “people food for dogs,” from the folks at the Let’s Be Frank hot dog truck. Like their superlative hot dogs (why, oh why aren’t these at Dodger Stadium?), Frankies are made from trimmings of grass-fed beef. No hormones, no antibiotics.

The temporary website just went live, and you can order some alpha bites from there or buy them at the hot dog truck parked at the Helms complex in Culver City ($10 for a 3 ounce bag).

Let’s Be Frank has been working on the Frankies formulation for a solid year. We do know that they consist of just two ingredients: American grass-fed beef and organic spices. (Nothing too good for your -- or my -- pooch.)

What would Jackie Gleason’s “Honeymooners” character Ralph Kramden make of Frankies?

Remember that classic episode when Ralph finds this delicious appetizer in the refrigerator and, thinking it is something whipped up by his wife, Alice, serves it to his boss.

It was actually dog food.
